The Philosophy of Keeping the People Poor and Ignorant

The Philosophy of Keeping the People Poor and Ignorant

The Philosophy of Keeping the People Poor and Ignorant

Let it be known around the world that the conditions of your life are not the natural results of living in a society on Earth. You work all your life and have but a small fraction of the available things, services, and pleasures. The people toil endlessly for very little. In too many places on Earth today there is starvation and depravity beyond horror. In the US the stress endured in the quest to acquire the money to pay the bills, buy the things needed to live some level of comfort is so intense that many are driven over the limits of their ability to cope. Crime comes from such stress; family troubles come from such stress; deep psychological problems come from such stress. It could easily be reasoned that most of the problems people face are the results of the stress to survive in a world so obviously overflowing with abundance and so easily acquired by so few.

The many examples of people living opulent lives of leisure provokes feelings in some of the people that cannot be identified nor understood. They work at a subconscious level to undermine the peace and happiness that is every person’s due. Envy and resentment abound. Some are joyful for the fortunate. For many, though, other feelings that are undefined and/or misunderstood occur that are denied or unnoticed. They swim around in their beings like deep water fish that churn the sediment at the bottom clouding the water but can’t be seen from the surface.

When you are hungry and when your children are hungry, it is not easy to witness the vast amounts of food that sit on display all around that you cannot have because you don’t have the money to buy them. This basic need is but one of the things that society has made available which cannot be obtained by almost all the people. There are countless others. Above all is peace and happiness.

Some people do not want a world of happy and satisfied people. They work to make certain that the people are never fully satiated and that they never have much free time. They know that the people are aware of the abundance they enjoy. It is important to them that the opulence they enjoy is visible. It makes them feel superior. It helps them enjoy their abundance.

The things I have written above are obvious to me. In retrospect, I am not sure how I came to this understanding. I am certain that Love made me what I have been for the past 45 years and that it somehow enhanced my abilities. Things became obvious to me. When I tried to discuss them with my friends, it became clear that what was obvious to me could not be discerned nor comprehended by many others.   I had to come to the fact that there was no way even to reveal them to some. It is a very sad situation, but sadness is good when it is in its right place. Now I have discovered that someone else, maybe many, discovered or was taught some of the things that appear obvious to me while being indiscernible to others. His name is Thomas Jefferson. He wrote the Deceleration of Independence for the colonies that became the United States of America and was a vital contributor to the Constitution that established the experimental form of government that surprised the world.

I have been reading about Thomas Jefferson. I have a beautiful book that was published in 2002 but is a new printing of an older assemblage of Jefferson’s writings. The original book was put together and published in 1939. My heart is soaring with glee as I read his words. Jefferson wrote many letters to many people. They have been preserved and it is possible to read the man’s words today. To say he was remarkable is to understate the facts. Again and again I read passages that are very beautifully worded and which elegantly demonstrate many of the concepts that I have discovered in my quest.

Mixed feeling swirl from some of the things he wrote so long ago. I want to quote far more of his words than is practical. However, there is one paragraph I am compelled to quote in this post because it says what I have endeavored to say many times but never with the eloquence Jefferson achieved. It was written to Supreme Court Judge William Johnson in 1823, many years after the establishment of the constitutional government of the United States. He died three years later. During his presidency, he appointed Judge Johnson to the Supreme Court and by the time of the writing of the letter quoted here, he had reflected on his life and his work for many years. The quote below may represent something he learned later in life, but I doubt it. It seems it was something he knew as a young man and was set against during the convention of men who debated and finally assembled the Constitution. You can see the entire letter at this website: http://founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/98-01-02-3562

Now the quote:

the fact is that, at the formation of our government, many had formed their political opinions on European writings and practices, believing the experience of old countries, and especially of England, abusive as it was, to be a safer guide than mere theory. the doctrines of Europe were that men in numerous associations cannot be restrained within the limits of order and justice but by forces physical and moral wielded over them by authorities independant of their will. hence their organisation of kings, hereditary nobles, and priests. still further to constrain the brute force of the people, they deem it necessary to keep them down by hard labor, poverty and ignorance, and to take from them, as from bees, so much of their earnings as that unremitting labour shall be necessary to obtain a sufficient surplus barely to sustain a scanty and miserable life. and these earnings they apply to maintain their priviledged orders in splendor and idleness, to fascinate the eyes of the people, and excite in them an humble adoration and submission as to an order of superior beings.

Punctuation has changed since Jefferson’s time, but the things said in this quote have remained far too true. Even as I wrote and said as well as I can that we need not live as we do and made the case so many times that we are being held down by those who have the power to do so, these words of Thomas Jefferson awaited my discovery of them. I rest my case. Thank you.

Taking Back The Country

Taking Back The Country

I have been for a long time content to limit the posts on this site to matters that are worldly. I have refrained from making more specific comments about the United States or any other nation. The lack of interest has made me rethink. The people have the power, but they are not using it. It is very sad. So, I am now putting something out there that is a bit more specific. I feel that the people of the USA are ready to make some changes. When I see ideas proposed, I am stunned by the lack of substance. I will, therefore, make a more substantive contribution, if I do say so myself.

What would you do to make things better in our government?
Here are some of my ideas. These are just rough ideas. A refined version would be needed and more added.

1. End the government’s methods of funding itself by means other than direct tax.

2. Prohibit lobbying. Have causes delivered directly the the entire house.

3. Audit all members of government annually. No money, job, or other form of reward will be obtained for any favor, not even for an audience.

4. Prohibit candidates from financing a campaign by any means other than from a general fund set aside from taxes collected for that purpose. All qualified candidates will receive equal funding and will be allowed ONLY equal time in any form of media.

5. Require all members of Congress to pass a test on the various aspects of any and every bill or action they have before them, and when they all pass, a vote can be taken.

6. All members of government will have their pay and benefits approved by the people by ballot.

7. All fines collected by any agency of any government will be collected into a fund that will be distributed equally to the people when it reaches an amount predetermined by the people.

8. All branches of all and every government will not be allowed to participate in any business of any kind.

9. No government branch or agency of any branch will be allowed to sell any government asset unless the people approve the sale by popular vote and any funds derived shall be distributed to the people.

10. All import duties will be distributed to the people.

11. Military forces will not be sent into action without the consent of the people by 3/4 majority vote.

12. All laws passed by the federal government will be removed and the original laws in the Constitution will be the limit of its laws unless the people by a majority of 3/4 approve new ones.

13. Governments will not be allowed to conduct any operations in secret except in time of war and all details will be fully revealed at the end of the war. There will then be a full accounting for all actions and responsible parties and individuals will be held accountable as heroes, criminals, or otherwise.

14. The federal government will print and issue all forms of money and no bank will be allowed to have access to it by any means other than deposits by the people. Money will be issued according the the gross domestic product and will be distributed to the citizens in a portion equatable to production so that it can be put into circulation. Available currency will be limited to the amount needed for the convenience it offers and in the conduction of business with other nations, all such business will be approved by the people before it can transpire.

15. All corporations will have a limit imposed upon them regarding profits. None will be allowed to charge enough for their products and/or services the accumulate funds beyond a limit determined by the people in a 3/4 majority vote.

16. Companies that produce in other nations will be charged an import tax that levels the pricing with that of similar products produced in this country. Other countries employing their own people and exporting to the US will be charged a reasonable import fee, if any.

I can go on like this all night. If you want to fix this country, start thinking of something different. These are just food for thought and could be refined.

The Court of Public Opinion

The Court of Public Opinion

From its lofty pedestal, the court of public opinion hurls opprobrious disdain in righteous indignation upon the lowly plebs who dare to entertain heretical thoughts. Conformed opinions! Nothing less will be tolerated. Greatness be quiet! Millennia of progress in institutional justice can never trump the ever-present social persecution, and it thrives even still. Persecution of the heretic by social pressure pales other forms.
Public opinion is beyond reproach. The masses form gangs to quell any fresh ideas that spring from the fertile soils of inspiration. In total arrogance and self-righteousness, the erroneous opinions of the public persecuted to death such greats as Socrates, Jesus, and countless others. Galileo spent the remainder of his life in prison for daring to controvert the prevailing opinions about the solar system. And still the court of public opinion squelches all who dare to even discuss the most important areas of human awarness. Even while claiming conquest of the tendency to persecute, the worst sort of persecution flourishes; social pressure. Who will brave the countless jurors who have the power of persecution?

“To discover to the world something which deeply concerns it, and of which it was previously ignorant; to prove to it that it had been mistaken on some vital point of temporal or spiritual interest, is as important a service as a human being can render to his fellow-creatures, and in certain cases, as in those of the early Christians and of the Reformation…(some) believe it to have been the most precious gift which could be bestowed on mankind.” John Stewart Mill, ON LIBERTY

An Exchange With A Reader In Greece

An Exchange With A Reader In Greece

I am enjoying a good reception in nations across the world. A young man in Greece is chatting with me on Facebook. Below is something I wrote to him today in response to his messages. I think it is worth repeating (so to speak) here. I put explanations in brackets so that it will be easier to understand.

Okay! So, I had best address you as Either. [He has a Greek name] My computer does not type Greek. I do not know of any significant meaning for my last name, Bishop [He asked about it.]. It could have something to do with Catholics, but not that I know. I do not find people boring. [He asked if I find them boring.] I find them fascinating. I have been trying to understand them for a long time. I am 65 years old and the past forty-five years have been dedicated to my research and investigation into people in general. I am limited to the people around me, so I have a lot to learn. I am not happy about many people. They seem to lack virtue in too many cases and they seem to be misinformed far too often. Also, people seem to be unable to discover reality. In fact, they seem to even think that reality is a relative concept and that they create their reality. The truth that can be found in such an idea eludes them, in my opinion. Still, I have come to recognize many aspects of reality that make me think that everyone always does the best they can do and that movement in the development of humans is constant and inexorable. (Pardon any English that makes this hard for you to read.) I have found that very few people share my view on this topic. I have written about it already, but I intend to do so again.

I have found meaning for my life. [He asked if I had found the point of life.] I wrote an article about it and posted it on my site that bears the article you read. www.thepowerofthepeople.org [He responded favorable to my article, How to Save the World Overnight.] It is called. “My Epiphany In Love.” There are a lot of articles on that site that I have written.

I fear for the world. I see that there is a likely cataclysmic consequence for the ways of mankind. That is why I write for The Power of the People and others. I have no doubt that if we do not take the right actions, the Earth may be made virtually uninhabitable. The nuclear powers in both explosives and energy production are enough to destroy the conditions that make life possible, but we are doing more. We are covering the planet with human things and destroying the planet’s ability to prosper as fast as we can. I feel the urgency and want to rally people to the danger while bringing them to the reality that we now have the ability to make life far better and more beautiful than people can believe.

The people have attitudes, psychology. It is steering the work we do. People seem to be unable to see the beautiful potential we now have. It is not like it was for many thousands of years. We are not struggling to survive like we had to before the industrial revolution, the evolution or morality, and the growth of knowledge. We can make life for all living things beautiful. To do that, we have to overcome the attitudes that people have guiding their beliefs, thoughts, and actions. Corruption must be recognized and removed. False beliefs must be seen for what they are. Truth must become common. I think the truth will unite us for I think it is mostly the same for all of us. We differ in the smallest ways and have almost all characteristics in common. We are all here and now. The world is what it is. The truth does not require your belief and the truth is that we will come to know that we are all in this together living in a reality that is the same for all of us. Our unique aspects are simple matters of location and constitution. You see the world from your place through your eyes, but you are looking at the same gigantic thing that I am looking at. When we communicate effectively, we can construct a more accurate and detailed personal awareness of reality. We have fought over opinions throughout history. Now is the time to find the truth. We can do it if we will open our minds and let go of the things that prevent us from seeing the truth.

Sir Thomas Moore Understood

Sir Thomas Moore Understood

It can be frustrating sometimes to discover that the things one has gleaned for oneself were already gleaned by others long ago, but the frustration is only temporarily, for conformation and verification such a discovery brings is highly satisfying. Sir Thomas More and I are of like mind, as seen in the quote below.

The economy of the Utopians is of particular interest. Their markets are nothing more than supply houses where everyone is free to go and take what he needs without payment. They are able to produce an abundance of food, so that they can export their surplus to foreign countries, which they exchange for gold and silver for the state treasury. There is no private property among the Utopians and they have no money.

The objective of The Power of the People is uniting the people of Earth who want to make the world more like the one Sir Thomas Moore wrote about in the above article. The important thing for now is hope. We all need hope. It is getting harder and harder to believe there is reason to think things can get better without first getting much worse. It does not have to be that way. We have the power to engineer society to serve us better. As it is today, society is just something that came about virtually by accident. There are, however, those who would engineer society so that they have great advantage over everyone else and even so that only horrors come to pass. They are few, and we are many. If we do not command our energies, someone else will.

What It Is All About

What It Is All About

Claudia sent the quote below to some of her people when they thought my Facebook post about my website The Power of the People was spam and I asked her to tell them about me.

“He is my cousin and I don’t know what it is about. It is not spam, so do what you like. I’m not doing it because I,m computer dumb.”

When I saw her post, I wrote the post you see below in response.

Thank you Claudia. I appreciate you taking time to come to my aid. You can log into Facebook and use it just fine. That means you are not so “computer dumb” that you can’t add you name to the list of people who subscribe to the website that I use to post things I write. I am doing the small things that I can to help the world. I have spent decades trying to find solutions to problems that are hurting us all. I have ideas that might work and I publish them on a website I built and pay to have on the internet. Also, I have realized things about some ordinary things we all deal with every day that I never realized before and that most people still don’t realize. I write about them and put them on the website. These realizations are all things that might help us have better lives and even a better world. That is “what this is about.”

I am trying to get more people to take an interest in “saving the world.” Maybe you don’t know, but I’ll bet you do, that this old world is on the brink of destruction. So, let’s say it is not on the brink of destruction. Okay! Well, there is a lot of injustice and way to many hard working people who can hardly make enough to survive. You and I came from a long line of people who have worked very hard all our lives and have little to show for it. I am trying to change that, because it is not fair. People who are virtually worthless horrible people live in wealth for doing nothing we need in this world while the people who do all the things that must be done get virtually nothing. The only reason it is that way is because some have found a way to cheat the system and to cheat you and me.

My love for people, especially you and the others of my family, drives me. I cannot stop and I never will. All our lives we have struggled to get by. Yes! We do get by, but that is not enough when you consider what is going on in this world. Yes, you and I have things those who are cheating will never have; the love of a good family, the peace that comes from knowing we work hard and do not cheat. I know all that and more, but I also know that the system is cheating us and that it is driving the world to the brink of destruction and over that brink. The only way to stop it is to get the people organized as a family and stand up to be heard. We the people have the power. I am trying to get us organized.

It is not an easy thing to do. I thought it would be very easy, but I was wrong. People drag their feet. They find reasons not to join in. Just as you said you are not going to do this because you are “computer dumb,” others are finding similar or other reasons. That cannot be permitted. We have to do something! Please, Claudia. Join me.

Subscriber Update

Subscriber Update

I received a lot of new subscribers one day and it seemed suspicious. I checked it further and found that they were all spam. This prompted me to inspect the list of subscriber I already had and I found that over half of them were spam. I deleted them. It took a long time. I am not sure if the ones that I left are real or not.

I set up a new subscriber system that requires a confirmation email which I hope will solve the spam subscriber problem. If you were deleted, please, sign up again.

It was a sad moment for me when I realized I didn’t have near the number of subscribers that I thought I had. Oh well. I do what I can. There are a lot of people who know me who are not subscribers. When I checked with them, I learned that most use only a cellular telephone to access the internet. Understandably, they don’t care too much for reading long articles. What can I do?!

I have a spam filter that removes spam comments. It has removed over twenty thousand. I am not able to fathom the mentality that does such things. Too many people are not dedicated to doing only good.

The Power of the People site has not been promoted at all. I suppose you could consider a Facebook page advertising, but if it is, it is the only advertising there is at this time. I plan to do something to promote the site, but I have not decided which way I want to do it.

There is no end to my confoundment about the slow movement of mankind toward better ways. It seems to me that the plans set forth in this site would virtually go viral quickly. I’ll keep trying.

Thanks for your time.

Notice of Current Statistics

Notice of Current Statistics

As of this day, Nov. 29, 2015, 1,289 people have subscribed to this site. There are people in almost every nation on Earth subscribed, including Russia and China. This is giving me hope. Four people subscribed today! I have done noting to promote this site. I don’t know how it gets found. I do, however, intend to find a way and then to begin promoting it.

I have been having a tough time keeping the hope alive. Futility keeps trying to get me. Sometimes I start to feel that people have failed themselves. Observation bears this out, but then comprehension enlightens the view. When Jesus said, “…they know not what they do.” as quoted from the Bible, he set the tone that has endured the ages. Every time I get a notice that someone has subscribed to this site, futility takes it on the chin. Thank you all. You are hope incarnate.

There Is Enough For Everyone

There Is Enough For Everyone

For many centuries humans have been working in social organizations on this planet creating things that have been passed on to the succeeding generations. Cities abound. The rivers have been tamed. Roads lead everywhere. Need I continue? A lot of work has already been done. Humans have been very busy for a long time. We have many old societies and their work has been added to the inventory of mankind. Much has changed since the days of tribes.

The changes in the lives of humans over the past few hundred years or less brought about by such things as the industrial revolution and invention have caused society to strain at its confines. People are living longer and the planet is hosting near seven billion of us by now. The systems that got us where we find ourselves today cannot maintain the population; not because the planet cannot support us but because the systems that have us cannot. They are too inefficient.

Most of us have to work to live in society but the mechanizations of production have reduced the need for our labor while increasing the amount of production. There is more available now than at any known previous time. Abundance has come creeping into the pyramid, monetary, and class systems causing systems to falter.

In case you don’t know already, let me tell you. Abundance is bad for business. The value of something in the monetary system is determined by the demand compared to the supply. When many want something that is rare, it commands a higher price than those things that few want and are abundant. Diamonds are expensive because they are rare and many want them. It is not nearly as simple as I am putting it here, but the fact that abundance is bad for business is what needs to be shown—not the subtle aspects of commercialism in supply and demand. The profit to be earned with diamonds would fall precipitously if there were more of them. Scarcity is good for business.

The systems that control our lives depend on shortage of the things we want and need to get us to do what they want us to do. Starving masses will go to war. To feed your family, you will go to work at a job you hate for most of your lives. If food was plentiful and easily acquired, things would be different. Have you ever wondered why plants that produce food are not growing everywhere? If we wanted, we could have fruit trees and edible plants growing wild across the planet. But then, how could food be used to make money and to get people to do things? Such abundance is undesirable in the monetary system. So, we just accept the things we think we cannot change. Getting you to think you cannot change something is a good way to keep you in line.

To fight the advent of abundance, terrible things are in play. War does a lot to dispose of abundance, including an abundance of males. Waste works well, too. Inefficiency is wonderful. There are many such things. You can discover them for yourself, if you want. It is becoming harder and harder, though, to keep the lid on abundance. Robotics and mass production keep increasing it. Invention adds to the ease with which we create things. The ability of the systems to create jobs for the growing population is being diminished by the very things that are making abundance grow.

In a monetary system, jobs are essential. Too few jobs causes disaster. You know it as “unemployment.” Creating jobs is a highly publicized mission of government these days. We live in a world that requires that everyone works all their lives; for the most part. The only way to get the things we need is to buy them with money and the only way to get money is to work. The work can be operating a business or being employed by one. When too many people have no money, things start to get crazy. Those at the top know this and have been very ingenious in their ability to maintain a delicate balance.

Unfortunately there is another method of acquiring money, and it pays very well. Speculation. Money is used to earn more money. Now, I have to fight the urge to go into too much detail about this avenue to money. It is complicated and its effects on the lives of the people and the world are dramatic. There seems to be a glaring ignorance about the world of speculation and financial wizardry. One thing, though, is easily seen when your view is pointed toward it. That is the fact that those who make money by manipulating money are not contributing to society. They are taking without giving. In 2012 approximately 45 percent of the GDP was this sort of earnings.

I am aware of the convoluted reasons that some of you will give to support the sophistry that the money speculators are bringing something to society. To you, I say this: let’s all do it. Let’s all make our money by manipulating money. Let’s buy and sell debt to make money, for example. We will just teach everyone how to do it and pretty soon no one will have to work. Everyone will be happy. Right! Making money by manipulating money is pure theft made legal and acceptable. Wake up! When people get lots of money prices go up and when they are getting the money without producing anything, scarcity is maintained in a world where abundance is trying to occur naturally.

Furthermore, the outcry that comes from the statement above are further proof that the ability to reason has been murdered. People will say that the application of ones earnings to speculative ventures is the way things get done. Okay! I know how it works, so what else can you determine? Can’t you see that it will only work in the systems that have you trapped throughout your lives, that provide well for a few and terribly for the many, and that are propelling us to our own destruction? Can’t you see that such systems require poverty, wars, destruction, waste, crime, and discrimination? Religious conflicts serve such systems. Racism is good for those systems. Crime is great for the systems. I can go on and on.

You can make your money by managing money if you can and if you want to. I will not begrudge you for it. I will applaud you. I am happy for you. Just don’t try to tell me that it is going to create a world of peace and happiness for everyone. It will not be that way in the systems that make it possible for you to make money by managing money. Only a small percentage of us can acquire our money that way without bringing on the apocalypse and we are already dangerously close to that limit.

Our systems must not be allowed to collapse for there is too much destruction that will come from it. I am referring to manmade global disasters that will end Life on Earth. We must carefully change the systems without letting the complex systems that control thing go down in flames. The work has been going on so long, we have set the sword of Damocles over the head of Life itself.

Endless Labor

People work and work and work. They often hate what they have to do and it has been going on for hundreds of years in greater and greater proportions. Many have just resigned themselves to their tasks and work five days a week for forty years or more at tasks such as folding the laundry at a hospital or selling mattress at a retail store. The work has to continue. It is grinding away the surface of the planet and the spirit of the people. There is no end in sight as things are today, but for doom. We have got to change things! The work must be reduced while increasing our comfort, security, abundance, and quality of environment. Would that not be nice?

As it is now, there is no work security. Your job is not going to be safe, not ever. Even tenured professors will be out of work during a depression or a war. What is tenure then? A social status that is dependent upon horrible systems that must die.

Many have lost their jobs after decades of loyal service. Military people are walking the streets homeless and destitute. The systems that govern our lives are heartless. They care nothing for us. How wonderfully this must match up with some of the characteristics of some people! Do you think that there may be heartless criminal types at the top of the pyramids?

In the USA, where jobs are essential, the jobs are moving to other countries and the international corporations are lining themselves and things up for a global pyramid. Meanwhile, we in this country are finding it harder and harder to get work, especially good work for good pay, but the systems don’t care. It is likely seen as a good thing by beneficiaries of the pyramids and their plan for global government with international corporations in control.

Business is considered an excuse for inhuman behavior. “It’s just business. Nothing personal.” Such nonsense has become a commonly accepted axiom. Crime and heartlessness are but two of the innumerable problems inherent in the monetary system and the class systems where the lack of ethical, moral, and loving restraints secure the top positions and facilitate the paltry rises in both. Time has turned them into old dying monsters. There is not enough room here to go into many of the inherent problems with these systems. I would like to write it all out, but a better mission is the one that this work is dedicated to; and that is a plan to change the world quickly. Maybe even save it.

Expansion of the Top

By now we witness the accumulation of power of such astonishing proportions that more people have been allowed to have great wealth. It has gotten so big help is needed in high places. People are being allowed to come up from the bottom. We all know some of the stories. Someone starts a business and gets rich or someone finds a treasure or someone hits a big lottery winnings. It will not happen enough to break the system that they rise up in, but it will happen some. When it does, the people are again baited to think they can do the same. People at the top die, too, making room for others. Despite all we see, the number of people at the top remains within the one percent range. It’s just that one percent of six billion is more than one percent of two billion. Those who come up are the ones those at the top a willing to allow to rise. Sometimes they make mistakes and someone who rises up begins to make trouble for the systems. We are aware of the sudden deaths by “lead poisoning” or some other means of great men who appeared to be able to make good changes in the systems.

Do you ever wonder why hardly any of those we are aware of who have come into vast amounts of money never seem to do anything that causes the established systems and their controllers any trouble? How about the fact that some people get so wealthy they could fund the elimination of poverty but never even seem willing to relieve the poverty of the people they know?

I am stunned by the fact that musicians and actors who become famous and wealthy never seem to write about the pleasure they get by rising from pennilessness to pennifullness; an experience probably overflowing with feelings worthy of songs and prose. It is just skipped over in their autobiographies. You will find in their books no shortage of words about their struggle and poverty. They will have you feeling it right there with them, but when they finally make it and you expect to rejoice with them as they relate the joy of finally getting that first big payday, of being able to get a nice place to live , plenty to eat, and buy whatever they want, they just skip it altogether. Of late, rap and hip-hop writers have written some about it, but nowhere near the heart of the matter. If these things have not entered your mind, think of it now. Where are the best parts of the stories?

It could be that those who get lucky enough to rise toward the top are brought under control by those with greater power. Would you just enjoy your good fortune and make no waves if making waves would get everyone you love killed? For those who have no behavioral restraints, killing the loved ones of those who make trouble for them or don’t cooperate with them is nothing—the same absence of behavioral restraints that make the rise to power in the pyramid easier. Rising up in the systems might be a very disillusioning and frightful revelation. Especially when it then becomes so obvious that there can be only one at the top, or perhaps a few due to the size of the planet and its population. “A few at the top!” Sounds like the seeds of battle to me.

Money Manipulation

When society’s budget is coopted to money, it becomes possible to artificially manipulate the prosperity of society—among other things despicable. The depressions and booms of the past were just such things. The depressions of the early twentieth century were contrived, ruthless, power plays as much or more than the consequences of stupid systems. The work force was still present and ready to work. The infrastructure was still in place and the resources had not vanished. So, why was there a depression? [Spare me the old answers that have been hammered into us. I have already been there. It’s all junk designed to satisfy those who are curious.] It was intentionally created. That is what must become known by the people. If your ancestors died due to the depression, you certainly should know this. The suffering and death it brought about were simply casualties of the financial manipulation against society that was intended to gather more power by those who perpetrated it and, even more so, to preserve a monetary system that provides the desirable lifestyles enjoyed by those at the top; but, we must not overlook the lifestyles of those near the top; the slaves who get to live better than the other slaves but not as well as those at the top.

The depressions did not ruin all the moneyed people. In fact, it simply reduced the prices of everything so that those who were not ruined could buy more; things like companies, stocks, politicians, governments, and so forth. It was a time of the best “sales” in history. Everything was available at new and unheard-of low prices. It was no accident.

The times of social prosperity are likewise artificial manipulations designed to maintain control of the lives of the people and to increase and consolidate power. The real work gets done in prosperous proportions and the people enjoy better lives. Once the prosperity becomes sufficient to placate and pacify the people, to distract them from the more vital aspects of society, and to accumulate more power, the financial screws get turned and the wealth gets sucked away from the people into the hands of the controllers. The up and down flux has nothing to do with the real budget of society.

Inflation

The savings you accumulated over the past fifty years or so has been stolen. Your pay in the sixties was much lower than the pay for the same work today. Minimum wage was about $1.25 per hour and things cost much less than they do today. You paid into social security from the pay you got back then; whether you wanted to or not. You saved, perhaps, some of your earnings after paying your taxes. You could buy a nice new car for around $2500.00. I know because I was there. Over time you continued to work and to save what you could. Meanwhile inflation is happening. By now a nice new car costs about $20,000 or more and everything else is much more expensive. The money you put away in the form of savings and social security, however, did not experience inflation. Your savings have lost value. The value didn’t vanish into thin air, it went into the hands of someone else. This is theft. You have been robbed by the monetary system.

It is a convoluted and complicated bunch of schemes that rob the people in broad daylight so effectively that the victims of the robbery never even realize they have been robbed. You can learn all about it if you try. I will just say that it has a lot to do with the printing, coining, and distribution of currency; what we know as money. Banking and government are integral parts of the process. I would like to spell it all out so that I could be sure you understand, but, alas, only so much at a time. I hope you will not just take my word for it and do your own research and study. If you do, you will join me. Mark my word on this.

Proof of Abundance

Do you think there is not enough for everyone to have everything they want? If so, have you measured the output and the demand? I mean, have you done it yourself? Maybe you have heard someone who knows someone who knows someone who read something somewhere that said there cannot be enough for everyone. There are, however, things you do know that will convince you that there is too much for everyone and that great effort is being put into making abundance seem impossible.

War

How much has the human species squandered in wars? I thought so! You know that the waste due to war is beyond measure. But we can’t prevent war, you say! That is just wrong. Not only can we prevent war, war has been perpetrated upon us by others. Wars have been desired by those who have the power to create them and the means to benefit from them. They have their own reasons to want war.

Do some research and learn about the money that went into the hands of the villains who are portrayed to have been the ones who started the world wars. You can easily learn of money going to Hitler. See where the money came from that Stalin used to gain control of Russia. Check the Chinese rise of Mao. The true controller of the world like war. They fund all sides.

War prevents abundance. It creates jobs. It is commonly believed that WWII ended the depression. War keeps the population down, especially the male population. Do you think none so evil could have risen to power in this world, so evil as to make a world war happen? Follow the money, and you will change your mind if that’s what you think. War prevents the people from becoming aware of who is really in control. They depend on war.

What about religious wars? If you trace the money, you will learn some details about the rise of religious organizations that will disillusion you. Conflicting religions are a great tool of the controllers of the world. Religious conflict prevents the people from becoming united. Those at the top of the pyramid, the world controllers, know that when the people unite in common cause the control of the world will be wrested from them. They don’t want that to happen. A lot of money goes into the sides that would fight.

I will resist the temptation to spell out some of the places where money is being applied to the causes of wars and the prevention of the people uniting in a common cause. There are so many! See for yourself. It is not that hard. Again, follow the money. I will say this; it is being applied to religions, politics, ideals, racism, and much more.

The people hate conquerors. Just let some country try to conquer some other country, like Germany did, and the people will go to war. It takes something that horrible to get people to war, but even then it is not easy. There are ways well known by those who need the knowledge for their purposes to get the people to fight wars. We can take the power from them and have peace. The way to take it from them is to stop using money to conduct our work.

Do you think that the prevention of war alone will not make such abundance as to make plenty for everyone? I disagree, but that is not all we can do to make abundance. There are many things that can create abundance by getting rid of money. How about all the effort that goes into the creating, distribution, containing, and management of money?

Money Management

According to the 2012 figures released by the government, about forty percent of the GDP was financial. Do you understand that? It means that almost half of the money was gotten by those who deal with money. Banking pays very well. Stock broking pays pretty well too. There are financial instruments that most people are totally oblivious to; things like derivatives, and much more. You can study to learn about them if you want. You already know that a lot of money goes into the hands of those whose only jobs are directly related to money and that by eliminating money those jobs will be eliminated making the burden of providing for our abundance easier for us all by increasing the help available.

I still want to tell you of other things that will make abundance obvious. Advertising is only needed in a monetary system. We put a lot of money into it. We will need no such systems in a world where money is not used. We will simply make the stuff the people want and operate distribution systems to get them out. The commercialism of retail business will change to functionalism and vast savings will be gained.

[I do realize there will be some need for publicizing and the advertising industry will be very helpful in that. New invention will need to be promoted. Public issues will need to be discriminated to the public. There will be a type of advertising useful in a money-free system.]

Will you please add to the list the end of producing things below our best level of production and the end of producing things so that they wear out, break, or fail before they should? Planned obsolescence is an accepted part of production in our word. We make things of inferior quality because businesses need sales, factories need orders, and so on. Production cannot stop in a monetary system. Unemployment would rise. Too many people hungry and desperate causes revolt.

I have already, in this work, written about the savings that the people can enjoy by the ending of crime and all its associated systems. So, I will simply mention it again here in support of the fact that we can produce far more than everyone would get if they were allowed to get everything they want.

The universe, why, even our solar system, are rich with resources. We are not going after them because we live in a monetary system. We can’t acquire those resources and maintain the many systems we are dependent upon in the current system for jobs and protection of vested interests. Our abundance will shoot off the charts when we are freed of those old impediments and allowed to reach out to our immediate surroundings.

Why is our factory production not done in outer space? We can’t afford it. In a money free system, we will move into space around our planet, moon, and star. We will find energy to be an abundant and easily acquired resource from out there. We can have our planet be a place of distribution, reclamation, residence, art, parks, and socialization while we do most of our work in the empty space where there is no competition for room or with other forms of life.

That is not all I can mention. There are so many ways that a moneyless society would save time and resources that it cannot be logical to list them all. Do some thinking and seeking for yourself. I know you don’t have time, but that is really not a good excuse because you have almost no time at all as things are now and even less by the time you learn how things are going to go if we don’t do something about it. Maybe you can whittle out a little time by forgoing some of the things you do for fun. I think you had better. With your nose to the grindstone and the needs of your family grinding your lives away, you are not seeing the end of your lives looming. You may live your life without seeing catastrophe, but what about your children and grandchildren? Worse yet, you are not seeing how wonderful you could actually have it.

In the USA and many other parts of the world, people are working feverishly. It has been going on for so long we have changed the face of the Earth. People work all their lives, most of us anyway. The work must never stop. If you don’t work, you don’t get money. You know what that means. No food, no nothing. It’s work or perish. The amount of work needed in our current systems is beyond the ability of those systems to create. The controllers are scrambling for ways to deal with the problem. Remember war? War is very effective in dealing with the system’s inability to create jobs; as I have said above.

Savings

Has it ever occurred to you that savings is only possible through abundance? People have been so productive that they cannot consume everything they produce. Luckily, money has been able to be a means to store the extra production; rather unluckily in my opinion.

The rich and wealthy are only so because they are able to inherit or accumulate what is not consumed; again, in the form of money. If we had to store our actual products, there would be far less wealth. The unfortunate aspect of the accumulation of unconsumed products is the fact that much does not get consumed because it is being removed from the supply and stored as savings.
As I have said before, you can’t get it if you can’t pay for it. Money is really a way to prevent us from getting stuff. If the products of society were equally everyone’s right, there would be no need for money because there would be no limit to impose. Now, can you see some abundance showing up?

The world’s top ten wealthiest people, hold about 552.4 billion dollars. There are thought to be 1,645 billionaires in the world; that is, they have at least one billion. Most of them are so-called “self-made.” The royalty and dictators of the world are not counted in the numbers. There is a lot of excess production in the world; especially in the USA.

There has been a lot more produced than is obvious and abundance for a long time, but it has been horded preventing the masses from enjoying it. It must be understood that in our systems there is only so much to go around and if someone or someones get a lot of it for themselves there is less for the rest. Is that said well enough for you to understand? I’ll tell you, I have had a rough time getting it through people’s heads. Such inherent problems will not exist in the money-free systems.
In this money-world, it made sense to get rich and then get even richer all the while doing one’s best to hold on to the riches. To provide for the self and family, it is a little easier to ignore the deprivation of the masses. When one’s circumstances are in constant jeopardy, the money-world demands accumulation and protection. A lot of people have done this and it has been done for a very long time. We can remove the incentive for this behavior. Money.

We are going to start a new system that preserves the access to the products of society for all and in greater quantities than the wealthy can obtain with all their wealth.

Realize that systems become obsolete and discarding them can be treacherous and trying. I am aware that the new systems are not exempt. This is not a panacea. It is only a step in the right direction.
People have become more and more convinced that there must be some calamity. They will tell you, if you ask, that something horrible will happen before things can get any better. They seldom will say that something wonderful must happen. (I have written about it already.) Pessimism is everywhere. But the fact remains that something wonderful can happen to make things better. That something can be the elimination of money from society.

Trapped by Society

Trapped by Society

What do you do in your life? Do you get born, grow up, discover how things are, and then fall in line? You were born into a complicated human arrangement of power, structure, and construction. How easy it is to play along! The tremendous pressures you are subjected to by living in the natural habitat of Earth are increased by the pressures of social structures and powers until the human species is evolving toward ignorance, ineptness, and servitude.

All your life you have experienced the effects of human society right down to the way your parents raised you. Experience has done things to you. This fact has not escaped the people who derive fantastic benefits from society. The lives of the privileged are something that they intend to preserve and augment. To do this they must make sure you never become a problem to them and they have developed ingenious techniques to insure that you do not. The events of human history are well known to them while the general public remains ignorant. They have learned lessons that help them maintain the systems. Then, knowledge of the past is tailored to further insure that the people never come to realize the power of numbers. The greatest threat to the society of human kind is the uniting of the people.

The privileged few do not think highly of the masses. There are exceptions to just about everything, but exceptions are like a lone voice in the wilderness. Predominant disdain for the people is ever present and can be discovered in the artifacts that have survived time. Pharaohs, kings, and emperors have considered themselves gods granted the human species, all life forms, and the Earth for their use and pleasure. They have seen themselves as far above the general people, and have treated the people with less regard than they gave the soles of their shoes. This is not just an aberration of the past. It is the reason you have to struggle to survive in a world of plenty. It is the reason for the wars, the social conflicts, the pain, and the suffering.

When the Pharaohs conscripted slaves, institutions were created to manage them. When slavery was legal in the US, techniques were devised to control them. We are the heirs of such institutions and techniques. By now they have evolved into invisible hands manipulating the strings of puppet that call themselves the “people.” It is you!

Like it or not, believe it or not, the reality of your life is in the hands of the puppet masters. You were born into it and escape is unlikely but possible. You did not build the cities. You did not create the government. You have done very little in a world exploding with the products of those who came before you. The entire planet is blanketed with things and systems that you are subjected to as surely as a slave is subjected to the will of the master. It took a long time to create this situation. Since the first leader commandeered the assistance of his peers, the human race has experienced the effects of Pharaohs, kings, queens, tyrants, and leaders. It is the stuff of legend. It is the past and the present.
As we plunge ahead into the future, we might want to look into the past and see how our world got like it is. In so doing, something wonderful for everyone might come to light.

In our quest to discover our past we have found that humans have had to struggle for the things they needed to survive as far back as we can detect. It was hard and dangerous work. There was seldom plenty. Only the strong and capable could manage to live and the conditions imposed by nature were compounded by the conditions humans imposed upon each other. Complex social arrangements evolved as if by accident, for vast vision is still severely undeveloped and evidence of social design suggests a relatively recent development. Slowly the concepts of specialization and organization gave rise to social structures and mechanical means that have changed the requirements of survival. One must take a position in some specialized position operating one of the multitude of society’s cogs to survive now. Exception are rare.

Behind us in time is history studded with conquest, wars, atrocities, and horrors more frightening than the fiction of the most talented imaginations. Power shifted constantly, but it was always regional. Global dominance, though dreamed of and aspired for, has remained unattained, though it is becoming more likely every day. As you must surely know, the shifts of power were most often, if not entirely, a result of conquest. If not conquest, then some other form of violence. On more local levels, power came into the hands of those who were not restrained by moral or ethical virtues. Many families that have power today acquired it initially by illegal means and have managed to expand into legitimate areas of society. The sad reality of this is that power has been taken by the sort of person that virtue would disdain.

Throughout all the wars and unscrupulous power plays the substance of societies developed. All too often the structure of society was adjusted to meet the needs of those who had power and the general population was kept in subservience. When someone rose in notoriety who had the general welfare at heart, the mighty hammer of the power players pounded them into oblivion so as to protect and perpetuate the systems that afforded them their power. The influence of great humanitarians and visionaries could not be eradicated every time and society inched ahead despite effort to thwart it. We arrived at today with many systems in place the people have little or no awareness of that are preventing the attainment of a virtual utopia that has become more attainable now than ever before.
Institutions and social structures have been created that developed their own means of survival; like some robot that has escaped the control of its builder and found the means to defend and sustain its existence. There are so many such things that it is doesn’t make sense to attempt a literary presentation of them all; especially in this article. They are holding us back. I find it very difficult to conceive the reality of systems that have become living non-entities, but it must be brought to light and examined. They exist only by our effort, yet their acquisition of that effort is mostly unseen even though we go to great extremes of labor, danger, and seeming devotion to give them life. If these things can be brought to light, something wonderful can be gained.

The Pyramid System

One of the social structures that has lingered is the often repeated “pyramid” type of social structure; one or few at the top with the rest of humanity below in service to the top. Aspiring world conquerors have littered the pages of our history as far back as we can see, and they all were destroying and killing so that they could have the top position in a pyramid style distribution of wealth, power, and prestige. If you think such humans are no more, you are wrong. This pyramid has been around a long, long time. Naturally, it tends to take over the world.

With our high-tech communications, conveyances, armaments, and militaries, a global pyramid is not a farfetched notion; it’s a looming threat. Do you want to be a part of the global pyramid? Maybe you would rather have a more equitable system, an egalitarian one. Why should there be a pyramid at all? Do you think that some deserve more than you deserve? Maybe you think you are more deserving than others.

We were all born into the systems that dominate the people. They have us from birth to death. Within them, we occupy a place in the pyramid and have little or no opportunity to move to the top. There have been rare exceptions that are publicized and glorified to make it appear as if anyone could lift themselves from the bottom to the top. I think they know better and are simply trying to keep the system in place so they can protect the abundance and freedom they enjoy by keeping the people so enticed and hopeful of rising up in the pyramid that they do not rise up in revolt. If you think you are free or that you live in a free country, you are terribly deluded.

In the USA, the powerful social system known as the Federal Government was established by men who believed in freedom, and was put into place by consent of the people. Since those people passed away, the consent of the people has never been sought again. Everyone living here have been subjects of the government whether they like it or not.

When a large number of states (11 of 34) tried to escape subjugation to the government in the mid-1800s, a terrible war was fought and the attempted escape was prevented. In the ploy to mitigate the reactions of the people to the truth that war was said to have been fought to “preserve the union.” Sounds a little better than “preventing the escape of 11 states.”

If you are an American, you were born into servitude without even the opportunity to consent and escape is resisted with violence. Even an individual can leave the USA only with permission, and still does not escape the systems. You can measure your loss of freedom by the amount of your earnings you are compelled to give up to the government, if you want. That would be very helpful in keeping you pacified in you bondage. Or, you can measure your freedom by determining how much of your life is bound by old social systems that you take for granted.

Even the powerful and wealthy are stuck in the systems. The social systems have you and your family. The power to affect those systems is limited, but it is not entirely absent. Those at the top in the pyramid of wealth have some power to affect the systems, but even there change is not easy. We are in the pyramid, and pyramids are strong. Most of us know that only a very small percentage of us are ever going to even improve our standing within the pyramid. The top is already occupied.
There is no room at the top for everyone, nor even a large percentage of everyone. At the top people have vast amounts of funds. If too many people acquired vast amounts of funds and reached the top, the economic systems would collapse in hyper-inflation. The top of the pyramid cannot handle many. There is no possibility for everyone to be wealthy, and there must be many poor. It is an inherent flaw in the system, and there are many such flaws. Some see it as an inherent blessings.

Those at the top look down at the rest of us with haughty disdain. They really do think they deserve more than everyone else and we deserve none to little. It is not even hidden. The “divine right of kings” is an old attitude. The attitude of the wealthy is similar and has changed little over the course of history, and rather than oppose the attitude, the people seem to accept it and cling to a fragment of hope of becoming one of them, complete with the disdain and feelings of entitlement.

Interviews with some of the people who have lots of money have revealed the completely guiltless feelings of belonging to a special group that treats the rest of the people as if they are not even there. They live lives completely separate from the other 99% of the people in many ways even though their lives depend on the work of the people. The acquisition of lots of money has not brought enough happiness with it, for happiness is not found without, and the suicides and tragedies of loneliness testify to this succinctly.

There has been quite a bit of publicity lately about some who have suddenly gained vast fortunes expressing their disdain for the general public. We have heard the words “mindless feeders,” and other more vulgar words used by some of the wealthy to refer to the general public. This type of attitude often comes from those who were able to get a lot of money, as if doing so made them better than the masses. By now, we can find many at the bottom who agree. That is how effective the systems we inherited are.

There are a lot of people who live very well. They can have almost anything they want, do anything they want, and go nearly anywhere they want to go any time they want to go staying as long as they want; it is “freedom” of a type. They like it. I think they realize that the only means whereby they are so able is through the social structure of our society; the pyramid and many others.

It stands to reason that the people at the top of the pyramid would be resistant to change. After all, they have a lot to lose. The people in the lower parts of the pyramid, inversely, have less to lose. We could use a system that improves the lives of everyone, including those at the top. I wonder if they realize what they are missing.

The Monetary System

We live in a “monetary” system. There are places you can learn more about such things, but it is sufficient to say that a monetary system is a “money system.” It usually has a central bank, as we in the USA do. The founders of this nation disagreed amongst themselves about the institution of a central bank, especially one with control of issuing currency, and despite efforts to prevent it, the central bank keeps coming back into our lives. Great power comes to the central bank via the monetary system.

I was not granted the opportunity to consent to having a monetary system. No one alive was. It’s like being born into a kingdom. And as if that injustice is not enough, I have found that few have even a rudimentary understanding of the monetary system even though they spend their lives in pursuit of money and in many ways their lives are dominated by it. It was not taught in the first twelve years of my education. (I have removed from this draft an explanation of some of the fundamental aspects of money. You can get such information easily enough. I have written about it already.)

Money is king. Money if “freedom.” Despite its relevance, its vital importance to their lives, and even the status of the planet, the people don’t know much about it. Those at the top are grateful for such ignorance. Be aware that they do not share it with them, the ignorance nor the benefits. It is my opinion that the ignorance of the people regarding the monetary system and many of the life’s other systems is a carefully cultivated condition.

The monetary system has many complicated aspects. Banking is just one of them. Inflation is another. You can take it from me, if everyone were able to get pay raises to a million dollars a week for their work, they would be getting no more than they are getting today. If, by some miracle, the entire society didn’t break down, the monetary system would automatically adjust by means of inflation to keep you in the same place you were before you got the raise. Pretty clever! Wouldn’t you say?

Prices are determined by “what the market will bear.” In other words, as-much-as-possible is the price of an item. That means that if everyone had millions of dollars to spend prices would adjust so that your raise would be meaningless, other than the fact that you would need help hauling the money around, and that job has actually been created. The pay for it is at the top of the scale; you may know some of it as “banking.” Perhaps you have noticed the well-built fancy little bank branches that keep being built on virtually every expensive corner. They are just branches of a gigantic tree with roots deeply embedded in the soil of our lives.

The Class System

We are the heirs of many systems; or the “prisoners,” is a better term. The “class” system is one that works quite well with the monetary system. The system is closed and even the acquisition of great wealth will not get you into the “exclusive club.”

You can encounter plenty of denial, but it cannot be successfully refuted that the class system grades people. Some are better than others in a class system. Therefore, some think they deserve to live better than others and the monetary system serves that concept quite well. You can be sure, however, that there is no way for the monetary system and the class system to provide lifestyles similar to that of the people at the top for everyone. Indeed, like the monetary system, there is little or no likelihood of improving ones position. In the class system, the top is already occupied.

Now, consider the fact that the monetary and the class systems are social constructs. They were created by man; perhaps predominately by that gender. They are not like the solar system, the endocrine system, or any other natural system. They only exist because we make them. Well, we don’t have to make them. We shouldn’t make them any longer. Change is required.

The Power of the People

The people have the true power in the world. They always have. There is nothing without the people. Kings would have no kingdom, Pharaohs would have no workers without the people who have not been fortunate enough to be Pharaohs themselves. Both are titles of a mere person; a person just like all of us, despite their opinion to the contrary. Only the people provide. Only the people have true power. They rise up now and then, but they seem to prefer not to. Of course, those at the top never stop working against such an uprising. The people so outnumber those at the top that there would be little chance of the people failing in an earnest attempt. What would the people do? Well, that has been the problem. They don’t know what to do.

Leaders

They have relied on those at the top to lead them and to take care of them so long it has become generally accepted as one of the “laws of life,” and apply little effort to the examination and evaluation of the arrangement. Only the most dire conditions have compelled the people to use their power to change the system. They want to spend their time dealing with their own affairs and to just trust the leaders. Do you think the leaders are trustworthy?

Some people are born with the ability to work with their hands, some the ability to run very fast, some with a fabulous sense of music, some with the ability to perform great mental feats, and the variety is incredible. Now and then through history some have been born who have many abilities and they have often been leaders of others. Though there have been great leaders who have done good things as leaders, there appear to have been far more who have led the people into horrors such as piracy, looting and pillaging, slavery, wars of conquest, and even eradication of other peoples.
Buckminster Fuller wrote about some such men and referred to them as “great pirates.” The term fit since they were usually leading the people out to sea to attack other ships, but they did not limit themselves to ships. Towns were often subjected to their attention. They robbed and destroyed without remorse. They killed people with pleasure in unfathomable numbers. It was heartlessness unbound, and it went on over the millennia. It still goes on! One of the effects of the bloody history is the acceptance as a natural law the social arrangement of leadership. Leaders have made followers rich. They have not made the followers as rich as they have made themselves, though.

This type of exploit was played out by many such leaders and followers. Battles were conducted between them and power shifted around constantly. Nations evolved from this history of leaders and followers consolidating holdings and winning new territories. It certainly shaped the face of the world we know until the leadership role has become one that does not require persons of many qualities. The people at the top have become the type that cannot survive without the provisions of the rest of the people. They cannot perform the tasks required to produce the things they have. Without the systems that provide for them, they would perish. Intellect is not enough. They have the intellect, for sure, though it seems to me to be trending toward insanity. No other explanation fits all the horrors. Nation against nation forever! Wars over and over. This is the legacy we have received. There is more to it though, thankfully.

Morals

While the fighting was going on, others were working to make peace, to improve the character of the people, and to establish morals, ethics, and virtues; to bring heart to the world. Religions came to be. Great prophets came forth with teachings and messages that helped alleviate the violence and improve the general character of the people. It is my belief that each was needed and occurred as it should have when and where it should have.

Beauty and horror mixed and created great currents that have yet to settle, and from these currents came the social structures to which we are currently subjected and which we accept as though there is no other way. It’s as if it all came about by accident, as if no one actually thought about it and decided to create what we have, and we don’t have it. It has us.

Social System Influence

We can change the systems that control us. We must! It is going to happen one way or another. We can let things unfold while we “mind our own business” and hope for the best. We can allow those who have a will to change things to do so and hope they have our best interests at heart and in mind. We can rely on the deity and try to ignore the fact that we have been waiting for that for many thousands of years. Or! We can put ourselves into it and develop a vision of how we want to make things for ourselves and then make it that way.

It will be necessary to evaluate ourselves. We must find the areas of ourselves that are not the products of our conscious creation, at least our conscious approval. The centuries of established systems have shaped the very nature of our beings; even our genetics.

The pyramid, monetary, and class systems virtually dictate the quality of our lives and the substance of our beings. We have some control, to be sure, but only within those systems and the others that are not part of this discussion—not yet anyway. The systems have been in place so long they have affected the very foundations of reason in the minds of the people and caused us to feel what we feel; those of us who do feel, that is. It is not safe nor wise to trust your own judgment these days, and what you feel is treated like a phantom that disturbs your thoughts.

We all know that the greatest human power is the power of a united people. As old Ben Franklin said, “We must indeed all hang together, or most assuredly we will all hang separately.” Find that cause that we can join as a people. Put aside the difference long enough to prevent the end of the world and to create a utopic society.
